Applications for the 2018 Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival are now available online. The Orlando Fringe is an unjuried (non-curated) festival for which participants are selected through a lottery system. Some 25% of the festival slots are reserved for international companies, 25% for U.S. companies outside of the state of Florida, and 50% for local (Florida) artists. The non-refundable application fee is $25, and if selected production fees range from $450-$1,800, based on the size of venue and number of performances requested. Orlando Fringe returns 100% of tickets sales to artists; in 2017, the average return was over $3,200, with a total of $425,250 returned to artists.
The Orlando Fringe is the oldest Fringe festival in the United States, having been founded in 1992. It is a member of the Canadian Association of Fringe Festivals.
Applications are due November 15 at 5:00 pm EST. The lottery will be held on December 4 at 6:00 pm EST.
