NEWS: Houston Opera Takes the Convention Center

Houston Grand Opera, one of the great opera companies of the United States, was hard-hit by Hurricane Harvey. Just like the Unsinkable Molly Brown, however, Houston Grand is not to be stopped: the company will take up residence in an exhibition hall of the George R. Brown Convention Center.

Houston Grand Opera’s home was flooded by 12 feet of water, causing significant mechanical and other damage. However, the company has already committed to staging three producitons in its temporary home, dubbed the HGO Resilience Theater and seating 1,700.
