NEWS: Musical America Announces 2018 Artist of the Year

Musical America has announced its 2018 Artist of the Year: Boston Symphony Orchestra conductor Andris Nelsons. The 38-year-old Latvian conductor’s professional career began as a trumpeter in the Latvian National Opera Orchestra, before transitioning into conducting.

The magazine also honored Mason Bates, Augustin Hadelich, Sondra Radvanovsky, and Francisco J. Núñez Recognized as Composer, Instrumentalist, Vocalist, and Educator of the Year, respectively.
